- Use natural light as much as possible in the work place or where you study.
- Switch off all electrical appliances before leaving the work place or place of study.
- In the kitchen, switch off the hotplate a few minutes before the food is cooked, and use the residual heat.
- Use low-energy consumption light bulbs – they use less and last longer.
- Use washing-machines and dishwashers only on full load, and if possible, use the ‘eco’ programme.
- Move fridges and freezers away from heat sources such as cookers, where they will consume more energy; if possible, buy ‘ecological’ models that are highly energy-efficient (e.g. Category A+).
- Don’t leave lights on in empty rooms.
